Top SEO Articles regarding Organic Traffic Resources

Filed Under (SEO Basics) by admin on 30-09-2008

Sometimes taking a step back and looking at other concept regarding Organic Traffic is a good thing. There are many different concepts and ideals on how to increase your Google, Msn and Yahoo traffic and for this reason we will look at the Top 10 Article on the net regarding Organic Traffic.

The first article I found was from Pro Blogger named How to Herd Organic Search Traffic to Your Blog. This is an intense article and might be a little over bearing for my readers and maybe even myself. Not only does this author speak about how to place well in Google they also discuss using tools in order to generate the best and mast target keywords! This is definitely a good read and I would suggest it 100%

The second article I came across was named, Organic Traffic Building: The Only Way to Grow a Sustainable Web Brand. This article speaks about social networking and creating unique content! Overall a great read and something should be learnt from it!

The third article I found was named, How to Generate Organic Traffic to Your Site. This article is extremely simple and was a great read! The author speaks about unique content, using keywords and how to examine your current set up to see if you can optimize more on your own blog rather than your articles!

The Forth article I found is a little off topic but look at Organic Traffic as a way of income and in general a way to increase your profits. Titled Organic Traffic worth way more than PPC & Paid Traffic.

The Fifth article I found was again related to Organic Traffic and it’s pretty specific regarding the importance and understanding which is named, Blog SEO Part 1: Organic Traffic. Seems there’s a documentation of the results like I’m starting here at seomkt so it might be worth browsing the blog to see what else is offered!

From reading these articles you should have a better understanding on what Organic Traffic is and what you could potentially do with it! You should also have a good understanding of Keywords, Unique content and how to rank inside Google’s top 10!

Over time you should be seeing me up there and I don’t predict it will be long! I will continue to write about these articles and eventually Google will love me too! Best of luck to you all and don’t be afraid to ask any questions you might have!

SEO and Targeting Keywords to Increase Organic Traffic

Filed Under (SEO Basics) by admin on 30-09-2008

When writing articles on your blog try to hyperlink to other articles on your blog that are related to the topic at hand! Ensure the hyper links have Targeted Keywords to those specific articles as well. For example this topic today I will link to a few articles you might also find interesting to read but most importantly they are related to the articles topic. SEO isn’t an easy task and for most webmasters getting ranked in Google is very hard.

Google wants unique content and keyword specific articles. Linking to these articles overtime will also help increase your Page Rank and SERP. (Search Engine Ranking Position) Sometimes you can hyper link to much so make sure you stay targeted to your topic and only link to articles that are relevant.

Organic Traffic is always something every true bloggers looks for seeing it’s the easiest way to make money from our ads! My template isn’t the greatest for making money online but I still want to get that organic traffic as much as possible!

Creating and generating organic traffic from other search engine such as yahoo and msn are still a mystery to me seeing I have only been experimenting with Google! Over the next month or so I will try to start writing some topics regarding other major search engines and not simply Google. As I write these articles I will be learning with you as we lead to the end of the experiment.

To show a great example of targeting keyword with hyper links I will use the following Google Search term.

“Google Search Term”

From this search term you can see from hyper linking my first article in my second article, Unique Content Increases SEO and Organic Website Traffic, allowed me to become quickly cached with Google regarding my first article, Creating Unique Content on Social Networking Websites.

The coolest thing about these articles is they are also available in Google right now with unique keywords and descriptions from my favorite social networking website such as blog engage.

Overall the lesson I’m trying to express today is when hyper linking article ensure they are targeted with similar keywords and are in fact relevant to the topic your writing! Google loves when you follow the rules and will cache you so fast it’s not even funny! Google can be a powerful tool but try to keep your ideals basic as the more advanced you get the more chances it’s liable to not work.

Post your comments or ideals! Want me to try something different let me know!

Thanks,

Brian

Self Motivational Tips and Techniques… OMG it’s Monday!

Filed Under (Marketing, Sales) by admin on 30-09-2008

I know it’s Tuesday!

Sometimes when your career consists of repetitive tasks or responsibilities it’s hard to stay focused on the importance of your job and most importantly it’s hard to stay motivated! With the American economy falling to pieces we all find ourselves wondering when we will see the lay off papers. In today’s market self motivation doesn’t come easy and as the days go by your job may continue to seem more and more depressing. Especially if your in sales and marketing.

Sales and Marketing is normally a decent job but as mentioned the American economy is in the tubes and from this we see less sales and less marketing strategies working as they should. Getting the sale isn’t as easy as before and new leads are far in few in between. Today I thought I would put together a nice list of some thing’s I do to help myself stay motivated during these hard economic times.

1. Don’t think it’s your product or service it’s the whole sector things are simply down so take advantage of all possible sales leads even if the sale decreases your overall profit!

2. When doing your sales calls try to remain positive! I’m sure many companies have a need for your service but again with the market in its current state most companies can’t buy into your idea right now. Try to get dates on when you should call back and also try to send literature or information about your products to the prospect.

3. Remember you’re not the only one experiencing these issues so be understanding to companies that can’t necessarily afford your product right now! Build relationships with these people because someday they will need your product or service.

4. Everyday when I wake up I set goals for my self and I ensure they are realistic. I’m not setting goals for sales but rather sales calls! I want to try and reach the most people I possibly can in the period of slowdown. The reasoning I do this is because I know somewhere someone is looking for our product and service. Ensuring I reach a specific amount of calls a day will help my chances of calling on that company whom is in the market.

Sales and marketing isn’t as fun as most people think. The job can get extremely depressing and from this your whole life can become affected! Try to pace yourself, set personal goals and when you accomplish these goals you will find you are becoming closer to being self motivated!

Sometimes things simply don’t work out the way we expected in life. We lose a job, or we didn’t get that awesome raise but we should remember! There’s a reason these things didn’t work out the way we expected and only we can change this. Work hard, set goals and don’t give up! If you don’t have the motivation to continue these practices maybe it’s time to look for a new career, a career in which you can practice these Self Motivational Tips. If you don’t want to practice these tips it’s a good chance you really don’t like your current job!
Best if luck to all my Sales and Marketing friends and remember try to stay motivated!

Thanks,

Brian

Targeting and Marketing to Specific and Unique Keywords will Increase your Organic Google Traffic

Filed Under (SEO Basics) by admin on 26-09-2008

When writing articles on your blog be sure to create back links using targeted keywords. This will help Increase your Organic Traffic from Google and target specific keywords much easier. So today when I write this article I’m going to select specific Keywords to hyperlink to relevant topics regarding these discussions. This is all in test and theory for me and is a new experiment I’m working on. The general idea to get targeted traffic is to develop an understanding of how Google reads our blogs posts and what they look for while doing so.

As most my readers know I started an experiment a few days ago to see if I could potentially increase my Google Traffic by targeting Keyword while using unique content and descriptions for my article when submitting to other social networking media. First to let you know I’m using a social networking site I developed and launched that was specifically design for bloggers named blog engage. I would submit my written content to that website using unique content title and description so Google indexed the information twice without classifying it as duplicate content.

It’s been 48 hours now let’s see where I sit in Google’s index using the title and keywords. First let’s make a Google search for the following terms.

Increase organic traffic flow

Organic traffic from social networking

does unique content increase Google traffic

From doing the searches above I was able to link back to my website on many occasions. There’s one that specifically got my attention and it was the last search asking “does unique content increase my Google traffic” The results in that search query was outstanding! 5 of the 10 available links will eventually be sending readers to my seomkt blog. First I have my own blog article landing in the first 2 spots and blog engage isn’t far behind. The forth is digg.com and again I used unique topic titles and content when submitting.

With this post I’m trying to move toward adding Google in the topic and seeing if I can get indexed using that keyword. This will be very hard seeing thousands of people might be trying to do the same especially webmasters.

You can follow the steps I have been taking by reading the following articles.

First read Unique Content Increases SEO and Organic Website Traffic

and then followup by reading Part 2, Creating Unique Content on Social Networking Websites

Follow up Sales Calls, How much is too much?

Filed Under (Sales) by admin on 25-09-2008

As a sales rep one of my biggest concerns is simply making too many call backs. At some point in time we have to ask ourselves how much is too much. I call presidents and CEO’s for a living and at most times it’s nearly impossible to get into contact with these individuals seeing they also have busy schedules of their own. I call 3 or 4 times a week trying to reach them and sometimes I’ll leave 2 voicemails. The first would always be on a Monday and another on Thursday.

This article is interesting for me to write seeing by the end when it’s complete I might just have an answer for myself. Lets start by looking at what factors can come into play when constantly calling a company everyday to make a sales pitch to the President or CEO.

Continuously get the same secretary– This could potentially get deadly. As an example I had one admin secretary that liked me. She would call me hun and we knew each other by name but one day I called and it was obviously enough in her mid. She seemed a little irate with me not understand why I continued to call.

Possible solution– Try and use the company directory to get into the presidents voicemail. Hey you might be a nice guy and very likable but lets face it a sales call a day keeps the president away!

Leaving the same message- Please avoid this like it’s the plague! There’s no reason you should be repeating yourself all the time! If the president is listening to his message and always hears the same sales pitch its boring and border line harassment. Could you imagine getting the same message twice a week for over 2 or 3 months? Please don’t do this and I’ll explain why.

Possible solution- Leaving a voicemail is no different than making a sales pitch so let’s be unique and pitch different Features, Benefits and Advantages our products or services has. Every time you leave a message it should be another reason why this potential sales lead needs your company’s services!

The line between harassment and sales calls becomes really closely tied in. For instance if the company has a need for a product or service and eventually gets back to you all the messages left may not be of an issue. On the other hand if the company doesn’t have a need and continues to get your messages over time they can become extremely pissed off and this is the last thing you need. Creating a bad name with companies in your target market can potentially leak out side to other company’s creating and name for your and your services offered.

I guess when it’s all said and done you have to weigh the results and see what brings your company the most profit. Should you upset 100 people to get one sale? If you don’t follow up on your leads you will never close a sale so the question remains, how much is too much?

Personally if I have a cold call and I’m not too sure if it’s a lead yet I will call the company as I go through my sales list. If I think or see a need for one of our services I will call everyday! The majority of the time I don’t get people upset and remember at most 2 voicemails per contact a week.

If unsure speak to your co-workers in the same department and see what their concept is. Ask for advice and eventually you will come to your own conclusion. Simply stay away from the border line harassment and I think you will do just fine!

Thanks,

Brian

Creating Unique Content on Social Networking Websites – Part 2

Filed Under (SEO Basics) by admin on 25-09-2008

Yesterday I posted an article regarding the creation of unique content when submitting your article to Social Networking Websites and today I already have proof this is an amazing way to increase your overall organic traffic flow from the major Search Engines. I create three topics the original was posted here on my blog and I submitted the other 2 on over at blog engage and the other at digg.

This morning I made a quick search using my friend Google and I was happy to see the same article in the Top four spots on Google leading the exact same article, this one.

Use the following search terms over at Google and look at the results. “Increase organic traffic flow” The first result is the submission I added at blog engage. As you can clearly see Google is picking up the submitted content as original and unique to the blog engage website! The forth link will lead directly to my blog here and again showing it as unique and original content.

From this unique content idea I have developed 2 very unique back links to the same article but again in this case Google thinks they are both unique. We all know it’s the same link in the end that I’m trying to point too! Overall this will help build up my organic traffic flow and increase the chances seomkt will be found using many search terms but again from the same article.

So what are you waiting for? Take the Unique Content challenge and increase your organic traffic flow while you still can. I’m not too sure why the digg article isn’t cached as of yet I’m assuming its bad luck I mean lets face it Google isn’t perfect! I’m also thinking it’s because the title and content were so unique I would have to search different keywords.

Well I hope my readers got something from this! Simply submitting the same content to social networking websites hurts your Google SERP so try to be more unique and original with the topic title and content! Check me out for taking a few moments I have 2 organic links coming back to my blog and it’s the same article!

Thanks,

Brian

Unique Content Increases SEO and Organic Website Traffic

Filed Under (Marketing, Promotion, SEO Basics) by admin on 24-09-2008

Understand this concept and you may have the chance of dramatically increasing your website traffic! When submitting to Social Networking sites create unique content by changing the keywords in your topic title and the body of the explanation! This isn’t mandatory for any site but the concept could potentially increase your organic traffic flow by over 100%

Let me explain the concept behind Unique Content or the ideal of what it represents. When you initially write your blog article and submit it to your blog site the content at this point is unique to the World Wide Web and all its Search Engines. When the Search Engine caches your content it will check to ensure your content is unique and not already mentioned elsewhere. Once this is confirmed your information will be indexed into Google’s search results along with other Search Engines. The keywords that were used for the article along with other factors will determine your SERP for a specific page. (Search Engine Rank Position)

When submitting to Social Networking websites you have the opportunity to develop many search results linking to one specific article. Creating Unique content on a social networking website is easy as mentioned. You simply use a unique topic title with similar keywords and a unique description of the content.

Who in their right mind wouldn’t want 2 Google search results indexed and linking back to their site especially from blogengage seeing we’re all about the do follow! Pass the Juice!

Here are some examples of what I have personally done with my latest submissions at blog engage,

Submitted on original Blog titles,

1. Blog Marketing - Tips and Techniques for Success - Webinar
2. Increase Website Traffic by using Top Webmaster Forums

Submitted at Blog Engage titles,

1. Tips and Tricks for starting a new blog – Webinar
2. Top Webmaster Forums can Increase Website Traffic

The Keywords are targeted and focused “Starting a new blog” and “Top Webmaster Forums” These are the terms I want the search engine to pick up! In general I want the Search Engine to pick it all up Webmaster, Traffic, Website Traffic, Blog Marketing, Tips and Techniques and whatever else you see in there! My topics are %100 relevant so Google will cache these articles in top spots over no time!

I know it’s a lot of work but in the end it might be worth the effort! We all know it’s the organic traffic that makes the money!

Best of luck and enjoy!

Brian

Blog Marketing - Tips and Techniques for Success - Webinar

Filed Under (Marketing, Promotion) by admin on 24-09-2008

Today I had the opportunity to sit in on a Webinar regarding Blog Marketing - Tips and Techniques for Success. At first I was wondering what type of information we would be talking about seeing I have never seen anything like this but the topics were all relevant and informative to Business owners and bloggers.

So today I will discuss most of the techniques I learned and try my best to pass on the same information that was given to me from our Webinar host, Bernie Borges.

The Webinar started off with the basics of blogging including the understanding of Web 2.0 and using this information to find and convert leads on the web. The basics of Web 2.0 are something I never understood until today. The ideal of Web 2.0 is to develop interaction between individuals on the web. In this case it’s being developed from blogging and blogs. Overall Web 2.0 is a read and write web and no longer consists of simply reading. Individuals have the opportunity to voice their opinion and not simply read the content only.

What is a blog?

The general idea of a blog is to share, maintain and add content easily to the World Wide Web. This can be done using Audio, Music, Video, Pod casts and more which is then displayed on a blog.

Blog Components, what makes a blog?

RSS Feeds - (Really Simple Syndication)
Blogging Platform – The software in which your blog will run off. This normally consists of free software from word press, drupal and other free open source software platforms.
Blog Authors – These are normally the people that will share, maintain and add content to your blog.
Permalinks –
Categories – This would normally consist of targeted and specific site categories. These categories should normally consist of subjects that are related to the product or service in which your blog offers.
BlogRoll – This is used to share other related and interesting websites your readers might like that again are similar to your own.
Tags- Tags are used as “keywords” explaining what the topic article is pertaining to. The tags should be very specific to the article and not the blog site. Don’t get these tags mixed up with Meta tags there’s a difference!
Social Bookmarking- Social Bookmark sites allow yourself or others to submit your article to be shared with other people or individuals that might have an interest in the topic you’re writing about. Specifically the one I own for bloggers, Blog Engage.

Blog Strategies

Begin with research- don’t think you can simply install blogging software and start writing about anything. You must do the research and ensure your target audience is appropriate and your content remains consistent to your niche blog.
Build a list of relevant blogs- Create a list of similar blogs that Share, Add or write content that you will also be writing about. Research the topics, categories and content they write about. This will give you some ideals on what direction you should, or in some cases shouldn’t go with your own blog.
Study them- Have a look at these blogs and try to find what has created the most buzz from the readers. If you’re specific niche market is ERP Software look at the topics that have comments on them or topics that appear more popular. These are the topic you might consider adding to your very own ERP blog.
Select a theme or topic- understanding the topics and theme your blog will be about will help determine your categories and or subject you will eventually write about.
Stay focused- Remember when you pick your theme and or topics to stay focused on this niche and write article pertaining to them. As a quick example if you have a sports related blog don’t start blogging about Paris Hilton and her dog. Honestly your readers don’t care and surely didn’t come to your blog to see that information.
Don’t launch unless you’re committed- Ensure your company is willing to invest the proper time and money into launching your blog successfully. There’s nothing worse than a company that creates a blog and simply lets it sit there with no updated content! Make sure you appoint an individual to write the articles, I would even consider adding the blog activities to their job responsibility within the company.

What type of blog do I create?

Technical/Product – Will the blog be technical and regarding the products?
Thought/Leadership- Will the blog demonstrate thought and leadership?
Tips/Best practices- Will the blog consist of Tips for end users and or Best Practices?
Opinion- Will the blog be opinion specific?
Contrarian- Will the blog consist of article relating to the different point of view?
Controversy- Will the blog create and stir Controversy to its readers?
Marketing- Will the blog promote marketing ideals and or ways of advertising products or services?

Benefits of starting a blog

Low Cost – The software is free but you still need a writer!
Build Loyalty- Create loyalty from readers who can be potential clients or current customers
Marketing/PR- help market your products and create Public Relationships.
Viral Impact of Conversation- This is an example of word of mouth which spreads fast
Research- Allow someone to do research on your target product using your own information.
Competitive- Keep track of your competitors and their activities from user’s comments and more.
Value added information- Generate the ideal of added value to specific products and or services.
SEO- Create more back links to your main company website and develop leads from SEO friendly URL’s linking to website and company pages they would never have seen before you added that blog.

Blog Marketing Tips

Write Often- try and maintain a consistent flow of written articles! Your readers are loyal but when there’s no blog to read and one was expected look out! You might loose more readers then you can get without remaining consistent!
Use Keywords- Develop keywords related to your site. Use these keywords in the article, tags and topic title!
Link to other blogs- Link to other blogs your reader will be interested in. Trust me this work and they might even link back to you!
Share Content- Use social networking website to create more back links to your article! Try and keep the topic title similar but change it a bit so Google doesn’t think its duplicate content.
Ping Google and Technorati- use these services when you update your blog allowing the information to be cached faster.

Overall I couldn’t remember all the information regarding what Bernie said and something I missed but really wanted to know about was these Centric URL’s he talked about!

Does anyone understand what they are and how to implement them properly into our websites?

Hope you can use this information and a big thanks goes out to Bernie who delivered an outstanding performance on Blog Marketing - Tips and Techniques for Success.

Thanks

Brian

Increase Website Traffic by using Top Webmaster Forums

Filed Under (Marketing, Promotion) by admin on 24-09-2008

Some people think creating solid traffic from webmaster communities is easy but in all reality this task can be very difficult. The first thing we need to do is ensure the webmaster forum is on target to our purpose and has the correct forum categories for us to take advantage of! What we want to look for on these webmaster forums are categories that will allow us to use the service available inside the forums while also advertising the website url without being  a spammer. The line that separates a spammer from an online marketer is extremely fine so let’s make sure you don’t create a bad name for yourself by following the example I share very closely.

The named forums below will offer many online marketing opportunities for your company or website! The best part about these options is the concept is allowed and not considered as spam. Let’s take a moment and break down these specific forums to explain and give an example of how we can market our website inside these forums.

Website Review Forums – Website reviews are perfect ways to jump start the traffic flow to your website. At this point you should be creating a basic template for a Website review request which can be used with little change at all the webmaster forums your sign up at. Don’t forget in this process you should include a website url to the website under review. If you want to be very specific you can ask for reviews on multiple pages which have minor differences in design and or reasoning.

Domain Name Appraisal Forums – Another great reason to post a website url. Simply ask the members to appraise the domain name and when adding a live link 99% of the time they will also visit your website! Trust me add the link these guys giving free review are deadly bored think about the service there offering for free! Use a similar script as mentioned in the above paragraph and make minor changes for each forum.

Buy, Sell or Trade Forums – The mother of all examples is this amazing forum. It’s like a free ticket to extremely exploit your website url with so many different way to do so. The best thing about the Buy, Sell or Trade Forums is they normally have about 10 other forums inside them. The sub forums you should be looking for include the following and sometimes you might have reasoning for the rest but normally these are great forums to start with,

Freebies - If you are offering any sort of free services or products (or seeking them), this is the only place those offers should be posted. Remember to always add your url when offering these services especially if it involves your website.
Content - Users buying and selling content (including databases) can conduct business here. This is another forum you should be adding your url too and again especially if it’s pertaining to your website!

Templates - Post your url when asking for custom or free template! Make sure the members know what website you are looking to replace the current template on.

Services – Offering free services on your website? This is the forum you should be posting inside. Always add the url where the free services are located allowing you to gain another back link and increased traffic.

Link Exchange – This is another great way to get a back link. Post your url and offer a link exchange with other webmaster forum members. This will generate a nice wave of website traffic as all people willing to link exchange will want to see the website there dealing with.

Link Sales -  Selling links from your website? Have an empty sidebar you don’t know what to do with? Again this is another forum for yet another back link. Post your website url and sell your link spots!

Contests
– Everyone loves contests but we can’t join if we don’t know what website is offering the contest so yup, another back link opportunity! Post your website url and tell all webmaster about this awesome contest!

I know sometimes marketing your website and or blog can become overwhelming but don’t give up! Some webmasters will make it difficult by posting silly replies to your forum topics but work with it and over come these situations. If you need examples of some Top Webmaster Forums visit that link and you will have a great start and maybe even a successful website to boot!

Cheers,

Brian

Encourage and Motivate your Employees! Increase Morale, Increase Productivity

Filed Under (Management) by admin on 23-09-2008

When managing a business there’s nothing more important than maintaining your employee morale and to achieve this you must motivate and encourage your employees to work harder and to set personal goals!

First thing to understand is these are real people and can’t operate as a robot on the factory line. Let’s say it takes a bit more than bolts and screws to hold them together.

Understanding why a happy employee is important to a company should be your number one task today. If you feel up to it take a pen and paper and start writing down the pro’s and con’s to ensuring your employee is in fact happy. I will also write a list and let’s see what we can come up with.

Pro’s to a happy employee

Increase in productivity
Respect for the manager and company
Reliability to the company and their personal shifts
Long term employment
Reduction in sick time
Superb customer service

A non happy employee equal’s

Decrees in productivity
Lack of respect for the company and managers
Unreliable employee that misses shifts and calls in sick weekly
Short term employment and increased training costs
Poor quality of customer service

So overall from this list you can easily tell a happy employee create an environment for success in any company. Treating your employees like their friends while maintaining a management attitude will get your company far in life and also make you feel better as a manager at the end of the day.

How can we make our employees happier and work harder?

Develop or create a Friday weekly meeting providing donuts and company information. Allow the employee to feel as they have achieved something simply by working hard towards set goals. Avoid letting the employee down with bad news. When you have to let the employee know do it in private!

Allow the employee to enjoy personal breaks throughout the day. Two 15 minute breaks one in the am and pm should be good enough. This is also including the 1 hour’s lunch in which is also given.

Take what you will from this article but if you want your company to do the best it possibly can I suggested taking the advice and implementing it in your company if you haven’t already!

Treat your employee with respect and as an equal and you will get far more out of them then you could ever imagine!

Cheers,
