Big changes busy day today
I was going to be blogging about my Toronto Trip/Vacation but I’m actually really busy moving servers. I have about 8 sites I need to move by end of day so I get get a pro rated refund on my other Virtual Dedicated Sever. I was told if I could move all my sites by 8pm EST I would get a refund of 120 usd so I’m on a mission.
Right now we are running the following specs,
• Intel Pentium 4 – 3.0 GHz duo core!
• 1×120 GB disk drive
• 500 GB bandwidth
• 1 GB RAM

So today I get the luxury of moving all my website over to this new server.

Oh man what a pain in the ass that was! I went and added the blogengage domain incorrectly and had to re do everything. I could have simply asked the members to update the plugin with a new release but I decided it woudl be better if I did the work rather then my friends and blogengage members.
Should be working fine here on out… I’m not to sure if were running on the server yet I think were waiting to the DNS setting to propagate!
Congratulations to the new sever. Personally I’m not to fond of a dedicated server since there’s to much work with the hardware taking time from me making money. With that said I do understand that really big sites may have to get it.

Once you get the hang of it running a server really isn’t that bad.
But you are right it’s time consuming especially the initial set up.
the 24 – 48 hour DNS propagation is a long wait.
