Friday Blog Traffic Report 6

As another Friday comes and soon goes we find ourselves eagerly awaiting the traffic results here on my blog. I was really impressed regarding how much traffic my blog actually generated this week. It’s by far the highest it’s been in a long time.  I believe my dedication and community involvement at blogengage has a lot to do with this increase of website traffic. Building relationships and finding blogs to comment on has never been easier.

I stopped getting a lot of traffic from BlogEngage. Why do you think this is Brian?

    • bbrian017 says:

Well no one knows for sure but reality says there’s a good chance it’s any of the following reasons,

      1. Not enough activity to generate traffic
      2. No interest in written content
      3. No participation in user submissions (go comment, Engage (vote) other)

oh yes.. also what if the people you meet are starting to visit your site as a direct refferal now. That’s also a good chance. These are just the obvious possibilities that come to mind.

    Good numbers again Brian :)

As for Asswass’s (man that’s a lot of s’s) question… don’t you also think that since Blogenage is getting more and more popular, less people get a chance to see his (and everyone else’s) submissions as they are removed from the homepage faster because there are new posts replacing them all the time? Doesn’t that just happen as you get bigger and bigger?

    • bbrian017 says:

This is interesting you bring that up Doug. If the members keep voting as they are “if” I will then look at increasing the amount of votes needed to get to the front page. Right now it’s 4 votes.

  3. Doug Dillard says:

But even if that happens and you get bigger and bigger (which is the goal of course) and more and more people start voting at least 4 times… submissions will get moved off the front page faster. I don’t think there is anyway around that. Maybe for a while while you are still growing, but eventually it will be hard for the average person submitting their post to stay on the homepage for a long period of time… at least logically that’s how I see it. I could be wrong, as I do not know exactly how your system works… I just no there is not enough room on the front page for everyone.

Doug I will increase the amount of votes needed to get to the front page. This means you will have a longer time seeing many other articles will never get the right amount of votes to ever see it. Right now it’s 4 perhaps I’ll think about increasing it to 6 or 7 soon.

  4. Brian, this is an awesome report. I like it. I see you got a nice bump in traffice from fresheventure. I also did the last week.

Goodluck in the contest. So 4 votes to get you to the front page. I guess I need 4 good friends. :-)

  9. Hesham says:

Brian, I am sure that BlogEngage “blog” is a good step toward enhancing search engine results as a good source of traffic.. I think you thought about this since long time back, but as we all know it’s not easy to manage a community and you are doing a great job by keeping BlogEngage a live and active and this is amazing!

This is why I am expecting awesome results!

mmm.. couple of questions on my mind!

I wonder what is the ideal percentages of traffic sources?

What is the best traffic source that you would like to have as the high source of traffic? Search Engines? Referring Sites? Or Direct Traffic?

  10. Hey Brian, I love looking at traffic stats like this. But I think I might be blind… How many unique visitors did you get? Is it in the pictures?

But all in all it’s really cool of you to post this for everyone to see.

    Thank you Brian.

The funny thing is, August was my best business month but my worst web traffic month so that’s a cautionary tale. Often, it’s not how much traffic you get but EXACTLY who visits your sites that matters most.

I was wondering how much you use Twitter for traffic? If you ever want a quick crash course in Twitter traffic that’s almost a specialty with me. And I think I could dig up some of my free articles on the subject if I remember where they are.

Twitter alone was getting me over 800 unique visitors some months. And it only took minutes a day. So it’s worth looking into.

Hi Court! The top overview actually only shows unique IP’s. I think it does anyways. Because I actually got 500++ hits but only 336 visitors…

I’ll add that specific image to next weeks stats and we can discuss it more then.

My usename is ricky709. I’ve submitted my articles there and waiting for their approval

  12. Love the traffic report Brian, transparency is something few blogs have although I need to do more things like this on my blog.

My stats are very similar to yours, in fact my number of visitors for the past month is 333. Anyway it’s interesting to see these reports and I’ll be looking forward to seeing your growth in the future.

      Thanks for stopping by Blaine.

I love sharing stats with my readers. I think the main reason I share them is because like me many of my readers are bloggers and they all have an interest in this stuff.

For the record this is only my stats for the week. I do this every Friday.
