Websites that do not use meta tags are either lazy, cocky or dont know better.

Add Meta description and keywords at least.

Plenty of websites do not pass W3C validation either, doesn't make it right.

You're right meta tags aren't that important anymore seeing the majority of websites aren't so niche. But if you have a niche website meta tags allow you to rank extremely strong with aged domain names.

I'm starting to get some traffic with meta tags SEO Marketing

meta description tag is still important , but I don't think meta keyword that is that important anymore. But it takes few minutes to do and some search engines still consider it so absolutely no harm in doing it.

Hmm, A Good tag will always keep you in SERPS and provide you with organic traffic, I have seen many webmasters adding lots and lots of meta description and then getting out of SERPS. You have done the right thing, I am also going to utilise them for my new site.

I was just about to do a post regarding meta tags.

Its amazing how many websites do not have a description or keyword meta tag. I visit a lot of blogs and a lot of big name blogs do not bother using them.

I always use them.
