Simple way to generate simple traffic (mkt)
I recently tried a new way (for me) to generate traffic and it worked really well but I must warn it’s a little time consuming. I’m not too sure about long term as I’m still in the the middle of practicing this technique.
If you’re going to do this you should probably have ’some” spare time on your hands.
Medium: Blogs
Objective: Post quality comments on Blogs in which allow you to leave a url.
End Result: Increase in traffic generated from marketing activities
I’m very serious when I say this. Sure forums have their benefits and you can measure large numbers of traffic in a short periods of time. But when leaving Blog comments you get traffic over a longer period of time. (This is just what I noticed plus I’m far from a statistician) I’m still in the beginning of my experiment but to date it’s proven true.
At a specific website I own I received an average of 200 hits per day over the last 15 days. I can see that specific domain names are giving me a large % of all traffic generated. But if I look closely the sites in which I blogged and commented at are slowing gaining % but it’s taking longer for these blog domains to catch up. Even if forums will always generate more traffic, blog comments are always a good maintain your numbers. (YTD) or (Quarterly)
Even if this doesn’t work out, which it probably won’t considering I would have to post comments @ 50 ++ blogs to equal DP traffic, I’m still none the less generating more traffic for myself by doing both.
More traffic equals a better community and income if that’s your deal.

I agree with you 100%. I have tasted the fruits of commenting and I keep emphasizing this point to my friends. But they all seem to very self centered.
Yeah I agree too. People can increase their blog traffic by using a variety of methods. Leaving comments and adding value to their blog is a sure way to get traffic back. This is something I do on a daily basis.
Yes, your right it can be quite time consuming but if people use different methods, they are sure to see their blog traffic increase. You have some very valuable information on your blog that will help many people increase their traffic. Forums are another great way in which you’ve talked about in another post as well.

Yeah Ted, leaving comments on blogs works good. I know forums is something I do a lot of as well but combinations works great. Another good thing for people to do is join many different forums all around the same theme. You will get different people clicking to your blog. New people, whole new set of blog traffic.

I agree with the ideas and practices outlined in this article. I also agree that it is a time consuming way to build links and improve Page Rank. The important thing is to find blogs with a good page rank that have a Dofollow attribute. There is also an interesting side benefit to this practice. It can be one method of finding others with similar but non competitive interests with whom you might wish to joint venture in projects of mutual benefit.
I just found your blog via the blogcatalog and glad I did. I also usually don’t comment on blogs very often but after reading your post above i think I will take the extra time from now on. Thanks for the tip.

Leaving comments is a great way to get traffic, but if you want to take it a step further then you should bookmark the site. It is not good to bookmark your own material but if it is another blog than o.k. Also look up your keywords or your blog in google blog search and see who is writing about you and bookmark that as well. There are many things you can do and I am sure you are going to get to then. I found you on blogcatalog and you are doing a great job.
