Finding out what works for your blog can be a tough and an over whelming process. I’ve seen so many bloggers try to take ideas and suggestions from other popular bloggers and for so many unknown reasons they don’t’ have success.

There’s nothing wrong with taking ideas form other bloggers The real issue arises when you think what works for one blogger will also work for you. This is a bad attitude to have and will not help your blog grow.

Be Unique

Your blog is unique and so are your readers. Understanding what will work for you and what will not work for you is of most importance. You don’t want to waste your time working on activities or marketing methods that bring in little or no results.

Add a twist

Take an idea and make it your own. Add unique aspects to these ideas and try to make them your own. Anything you can do to make your blog or marketing activities stand out is what you should be focusing on. Try and be original and make your readers come back to your blog.

Do something new

Adding a new activity to your blog is always great. I’ve seen many bloggers have great success with adding 5 top articles they read on the week or the top 10 blogger articles for the month. This is always a great way to build on relationships and increase awareness of your blog.

Add an Image

Personally I’m not sure why but adding an image can make the difference between someone visiting again or simply never returning. When blogging a picture really can say 1000 words. If you think it enhances the visitors experience I say go ahead and add an image. Make sure you use a royalty free image so you don’t run into legality issues in the future.

Enhance the users experience

There’s many ways to enhance your visitors experience, practice and test some plugins. This can be done by adding a simple comment luv plugin and allowing your readers a link back to their blog. This can also be achieved by adding a top commentators plugin. Also making your blog do follow will encourage friends to stop by and comment on your blog.

Feedback and Discussions

So what works for your blog? Are you doing anything unique to build on your readers base or increase comments and interaction? Stay a while and join the conversation. Share some of your unique and original ideas with us.

Yesterday I announced I wanted to start blogging for a living. As soon as I published the article I found myself wondering what steps I would need to take to have a realistic look at what I need to successfully accomplish this.

Some could say I asked myself a general question such as where I should start if I want to make a living from online blogging. So many things go through my head when this question is being raised. I thought I would post these main concerns below and approach them as we move forward.

Blog Traffic

For me this is one of the largest concerns when making a living from blogging online. I’ll be the first to admit that blogging without traffic will not bring you money. What happens is traffic eventually converts into sales. This can be from ads linking to third party products, affiliates or Google ads.

Realistically if I want to earn a living from online I have to find a way to increase my traffic by a minimum of 300 percent. Right now from all of my websites I’m averaging 600 USD a month income. The majority of this income is coming from blogengage a social community I own from bloggers.

What I have to do is find out how I can increase my traffic and I think by blogging everyday and meeting new people this could be a positive start. Right now my goal is to increase my online presence and increase the overall traffic being sent to my websites.

Money

Where is my money going to come from. Will I start looking at other options when is comes to generating an online income? I will admit this is the hardest part to making money online. Finding offers that convert into cash has proven difficult for me in the past. Especially when it’s been here on my personal blog.

I have tons of programs to use this is not the issue. My main concern in converting these programs into sales. Making money with blogging is extremely tough. You have to have some sort of product or service to offer your visitors. It’s very rare bloggers create a enough income from search engine traffic and Google ads. My plan is to find new and exciting programs to share with my readers.

Content

I’ve also contemplated how I was going to create all new fresh and original content on my blog. Even more important information that is beneficial to my readers. I’ll safely assume the majority of my readers are going to be bloggers seeing I will be marketing in blog communities.

The majority of my content will be related to my blogging experiences over the past three years and to date. I will share my failures and success over the past three years. I will also blog about making money opportunities that I wish to share with my readers.

Consistency

I have struggled in the past with being consistent on both the blog engage community blog and here on my personal blog. One of my main goals is to provide consistency with my blogging. I plan on writing Monday to Friday here on my blog. By far this will be the most valuable key to my online blogging success. In terms of building relationships this is what brings my readers here and that’s my daily written content.

Debt and Cost of Living

Perhaps this should had been on the top of the list but none the less here it is. The sad reality is my cost of living out weighs my online income substantially. From the cost of living, food, etc to car and OSAP payments I find myself rather living from paycheck to paycheck. There’s no way at this current stage in my life I could ever quite my day job to start blogging for a living.

Feedback and Discussions

Do currently blog for a living? If so how often do you blog on your blog? Do you generate the majority of income from affiliate or is it from google Ads? What’s your thoughts on my current to do list? have I missed some vital ingredients to successful blogging?

I’m sorry I haven’t been active here on my SEO and Marketing Blog. But what I can promise is one article per week. Jared, a dedicated blogengage community member has taken over my weekly word challenge and for this reason I’m starting to get involved with it but as a blogger rather then the organizer.

After two years of managing and maintaining my social community, blogengage I can tell you from experience what I’m about to blog about is do or die for the majority of bloggers.

When looking at your potential blog growth and marketing strategies bloggers tend to forget the simplicity of setting goals. Either they set their goals to high or they set their goals to low.

What I would like to discuss today is the importance of setting your goals when it comes to blogging. Setting a realistic goal should be your number one priority. This doesn’t mean setting small goals but it does however mean setting obtainable or reachable goals.

Take a look at where you at right now and set goals to help you be where you want to be in the near future. When setting goals you should have milestones to reach or accomplish on the way. This will help you determine if you are going in the right direction and if in fact your goals will be meet.

Instead of setting over zealous goals set small ones. Set yourself smaller goals to reach and before you know it you will have meet your main goal. This way you can also remain positive regarding your progress because your actually reaching goals.

Last week I decided I wanted to become a pro blogger. It’s not like I’ve been thinking about it for months or anything I just recently encouraged myself to make the necessary changes. I work hard at what I do online and for this reason I have decided to become a professional blogger. If you think about it for a moment I’m actually not that far away from the overrated title anyways.

As we move forward and grow within our blogging niches we have to remember where we came from. If we don’t know where we came from we cannot determine where we need to be.

I want all my friends and readers that are following me to grab a pencil and paper. In this part of our pro blogging growth we have to set goals we would like to reach. This will help us keep on the right path and not sway off into the wrong direction.

Questions we must ask ourselves

Am I ready to fully commit to my blog?

Is my blog the right design to satisfy my needs and keep me motivated?

Will I be ready to handle the influx in traffic?

Am I willing to learn?

Am I willing to change?

These are detrimental questions you must answer before we move forward. The next step in our blogging career is huge and we have to make sure we’re ready for the change. You will never be right all the time so get ready to be corrected and more importantly to admit when you’re wrong.

I want you to repeat (out loud) after me

The way I blog is wrong or can be improved

I can only do things better as I grow

I will be more dedicated

I’m ready to learn

If you can say all that out loud as of right now then you are ready to become a professional blogger.

I truly believe in order to become a pro blogger we need to start by completing the basics. I’m going to ask you to do an extra activity for me this week. I will also complete this activity and implement the answers into my next pro blogger article. We need to determine if our foundation is in fact what we need and more importantly what we want. In order to determine this we must answer the following questions.

Do I like my current blog theme

Do I enjoy the topics I blog about

Do I have the ability to promote and market my blog

Will I have unique and interesting content to write about

When talking about our blog we have to realize we’re talking about a product. When all said and done we have a price tag, a value that is placed on our blog allowing us to make a final lump sum of money if or when we decide to sell. When creating and developing your blog you want to ensure specific elements will be included in increase the value not only to you but to your readers.

The Total Blog Concept
The blog concept consists of specific elements that generate a final perspective or opinion on a unique targeted and specific blog.

The Blogging Mix
The first element named the blogging mix consists of multiple levels. This will be your total range of offering at your blog. Some elements would be categories of discussions, informational posts, wordpress plug-ins and interaction from your products with your readers.

The Unique Blog
This sections is always of most importance. You must have some sort of unique offering to your end users or blog readers. The key word here people is unique! Something you cannot get else where but where you are right now.

The Reliability of Content
Your reader have to trust what you’re blogging about. Don’t throw out examples or suggestions unless you’re sure they can work. The majority of all my article are inspired from fortune 500 companies and marketing manage books. I read and gather information before I blog or as I blog. What’ you’re reading is true marketing and blogging materials.

Consistency and Relevance
When writing on your blog be consistent! I’m not one to brag in this section but unlike most bloggers say you don’t have to preach what you write! I can say do this and not do that! If you do this you will be successful.

Enjoy
