Before I get into my new brilliant idea I want to send a thank you to everyone here on my personal blog that supported me in the famous bloggers contest. We landed over 500 comments and the experience has been eye opening for me and has helped me better set up my own contests.

After the contest I had a lot of stuff to do. First I had to announce the winners of our first 500 USD blogging contest and then launch the new second 500 USD guest blogging contest So needless to say this weekend for me wasn’t much of a weekend at all lol.

What I decided to do for this contest was to include all the bloggers who have helped me and commented on my famous bloggers article. Thank you we got over 500 comments. All the bloggers are now officially sponsors in our current 500 USD guest blogging contest at Blog Engage

A new addition to our guest blogging contest is the points system. The main purpose for this was to encourage members to start being more active and productive in the contests themselves. This is going to be done by social networking, article sharing and contest sponsor reviews.

I’m always a big fan of new and upcoming social communities that provide a real value to it’s members. One of these communities is named Blog Interact. I think what I enjoy most about it was all the familiar friends I seen after the first 24 hours of signing up to their service.

What separates blog engage from the rest?

I’ve owned Blog Engage now for over three years and one of the biggest beliefs I have is to do on to others socially what you would like them to do on to you.

Blog Engage has a very unique policy that requires all members of the community to Vote, Tweet, Stumble and Digg when they can. See this was the point of starting Blog Engage three years ago. I wanted to create an environment where bloggers could meet one another, socially share and benefit each other in the blogosphere.

Creating this environment hasn’t been the easiest task because if you haven’t noticed many people are only worried about their own success and don’t care about what others need or want. This exact statement is what makes Blog Engage different then all other social communities.

I can’t explain how nervous I am releasing a guest article on someone else’s blog. My article, How to Drive Consistent But Free Traffic To Your Blog is rocking with comments thanks to all my readers here and my friends over at the famous bloggers community.

I proof read the article three times, I hope it was enough but knowing me it wasn’t. English, specifically grammar is not where I excel. I’m far more productive at marketing and building traffic then writing a blog article. It’s nothing unique, It’s called hard work

Engaging with other bloggers is easier said than done. For example it’s easy to say you will follow your visitors back to their blogs and comment but actually doing it is much harder then most think.

Over the past two weeks I have literally forced myself to engage with my blog readers on their blogs as well as here on my blog. I’m trying to get to know my readers better and perhaps understand what they do on their blogs.

Blogging is such a fun hobby and has truly become one of my most favorite activities online to this day. In the past two weeks I have proved to myself that I can have a successful blog with daily readers and visitors.

I have an interesting mix of marketing methods that has been working and it consists of hard work that you must practice daily on your blog in order for it to work properly. Trust me when I say it’s nothing unique; just hard work that’s all.

Reply to your comments

I know it’s time consuming and becomes a full time gig but you have to acknowledge your readers. When they take the time to comment you should reply to them. Not replying to your blog readers is rude and might show a lack of interest in their visiting. Let’s be realistic not all comments require your reply but the majority of them can turn into intellectual discussions.

Comment on their blog

Follow your blog readers comment luv and build on your relationships with them. I think it’s so important to visit the blogs of the people leaving comments on your blog. Read their article and make a comment if it remotely interests you. They will appreciate this trust me, just make sure you read the article and your comment ads some sort of value.

Follow them on twitter and tweet

I always follow the bloggers that comment on my blog on twitter. I think this is a great way to build on your relationships and keep an eye on their latest activity. Randomly tweeting their articles and engaging in social media marketing with them will increase the strength of your relationships.

Yes it’s hard work

Returning comments to the bloggers that leave comments on your blog is hard work. If your blog starts getting popular you could be posting 20 – 30 comments a day at minimum. This number will only increase as the blog starts to build larger. Whatever you do, don’t rush the process remember these should be sincere comments as they have taken the time to visit and comment on your blog.

Feedback and Discussions

How do you manage your time? How do you keep up with all your comments and do you reply to every single one? Do you give priority to the bloggers leaving comments on your blog before you start marketing other article you find online?

It’s been two weeks since I launched Affiliate Lights and the Blog Engage RSS program.

Take a break from sales calls already

I like to take an hour or two everyday to work on other marketing strategies while taking a break from cold call sales. It’s a needed break seeing cold calling is a very repetitive task for marketers.

Normally within the last hour or two of every business day I will compile a list of all my hot prospects and put together an information package that will be sent via postal mail. In the package I have a company profile and information regarding our ERP, E-Commerce and Warehousing Software.

In general the information package is a high level overview of all our Company Information, Clients and Software Modules. We have managed to create some spectacular marketing materials from our design department and I like to show case it as much as possible.

I have many reasons to why I like having this break from cold calling. A break naturally motivates me to work harder once returned to my desk. There’s many reasons why this behavior occurs but for me it’s the simple change in pace.

I also enjoy getting out of my desk and office allowing me to stretch my legs and do other tasks that engage my brain. I enjoy putting together the information packages and in fact look forward to that part of my business day.

Once I have completed putting together the information packages I then set call backs within our CRM software. This reminds me to do follow up calls on these prospects regarding the information I sent. This builds interactive discussions with my prospects and creates the opportunity to present the idea of an online presentation.

I assume you heard the phrase a picture says 1000 words? Well this is the same case when you send information to a prospect. Seeing pictures and screen shots of our software says 1000 words better then I could say 100.

So if your bored at work and tired of cold calls start putting together some information packages for your prospects. It will help the day go by while still remaining productive in sales.
